A Manitoba Food Bloggers Get Together

Hey everyone! I have some exciting news! For the first time ever an event for food bloggers in Manitoba will be held this month on Wednesday, February 29th. It will be taking place at the restaurant Elements located at 599 Portage Avenue from 6:00pm-8:00pm and registration is completely free (donations will be accepted at the door). For more information and to register, click here.
Below is a description of what the event will be like.

"Join us for the first-ever Manitoba Food Bloggers meet and greet! This is your chance to chit-chat with chefs, foodies, bloggers, restauranteurs, liquor reps, beer makers, coffee roasters, writers, photographers and maybe even a farmer or two. Enjoy samplings from the kitchen crew at Elements, the hot new eating spot brought to you by Diversity Food Services and the University of Winnipeg. Special guests, info sessions and prizes!
NEW! HOW TO SHOOT FOOD! A short-n-sweet seminar presented by Ian McCausland on how to take better food photos.
NEW! Samples, Samples, Samples!
Half Pint Brewing and The Tipsy Thief will be on hand with yummy samples of—you guess it—beer and wine!
NEW! Prizes
The door prizes are gonna rock! How cool woulf it be to win a keg of Half Pints? Or take home an armful of Green Bean Coffee?
Cash donations for the cookie jar are gratefully accepted at the door. A receiving charity is still to be determined.
We're breaking bread and talking food." [source]

Doesn't that sound like fun? Truthfully, I'm mostly excited about meeting other food writers like myself at this event. So far I recognize one name. The super nice and super cool, burgers-and-beer loving cenquist from Stacks of Words. So if you know anyone that has a blog and writes about food, or perhaps writes restaurant reviews for urbanspoon, or even writes poems about what they eat, please let them know about this event!
Here's a map of where the event will take place. Hope to see you there!
